Common questions
- Where is my data? On your device and in your iCloud account, not on our servers. See Privacy for the full picture.
- Does it work offline? Yes. Everything runs on your device, so saving and searching work anywhere; iCloud sync catches up when you’re back online.
- Does Thyme Slice scan my photo library? No. Screenshots come in only through the photo picker or the share sheet, so the app only ever receives the images you hand it. It never asks for photo library permission, and the text inside your screenshots is read on your device.
- What is a Pressing? An offline copy of a webpage, exactly as you saw it, kept only when you ask at save time. A Pressing keeps what had loaded when you saved, so scroll first to capture more. If the page later changes or disappears, yours doesn’t.
- Which platforms do Moments work with? YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify at launch, with more added over time. A moment is a link and a timestamp; transcript text appears when the show publishes it.
- What’s included in the free version? Everything. The free version is the full app with room for 100 slices, and everything you save counts toward that. Pro removes the limit.
- What is the Founder price? An early-supporter price for the yearly subscription. You keep this price for as long as you stay subscribed. If your subscription lapses and you return later, you rejoin at the regular Pro price.
- How do I cancel my subscription? Subscriptions are billed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Thyme Slice.
- How do I export my library? In the app: Settings → Export. Your entire library, as Markdown or JSON, any time, with your Pressings included if you choose.
- What happens to my library if something happens to me? Your library lives in your iCloud, so it’s covered by Apple’s Digital Legacy program: add a Legacy Contact in your Apple Account settings and they can request access. Nothing to set up in Thyme Slice itself.
- How do I take down a shared page? Delete the share in the app and the page stops existing. Don’t have the app? Email us the link.
