Thyme Slice is built so that we hold as little of your data as possible, ideally none. This page describes exactly what lives where. It's short because there isn't much to disclose.

The whole policy, in one sentence: nothing you save ever leaves your device, except into your own iCloud and the shares you create.

Your library lives in your iCloud

Everything you save (webpages, screenshots, notes, places, and moments, plus the notes you attach to them) is stored on your device and, if you're signed in to iCloud, synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. It sits in your private database, under your Apple Account. We don't operate user accounts, and we can't read your library. There is no Thyme Slice server holding your library.

Everything happens on your device

Summaries, search, and everything else that makes Thyme Slice useful run entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device intelligence. Nothing you save or search for is sent to us. When the app fetches a page title, a preview, or a published transcript, your device talks directly to the site or platform involved, the same way a browser would; none of it passes through us. There is no Thyme Slice cloud.

Screenshots stay yours

Screenshots and images enter Thyme Slice only through the system photo picker or the share sheet, so the app only ever receives the images you hand it. It never asks for photo library permission, never scans your library, and never writes to it. The text inside your screenshots is read on your device, and the images themselves are kept as the app's own copies in your iCloud.

Pressings

A Pressing is an offline copy of a webpage, exactly as you saw it, kept only when you ask at save time. Pressings live on your device and sync through your iCloud like everything else. They are never included in shares.

Moments

A moment is a link and a timestamp. Transcript text comes only from what a show itself publishes; the app never downloads or extracts audio or video.

Sharing is explicit and reversible

If you share a set of slices, that set is copied to a public share record so the people you send the link to can view it. A share carries links, titles, and summaries: your private notes, your screenshots, and your Pressings are never included. Share links are unlisted: the URL is unguessable, and share pages tell search engines not to index them. Deleting a share removes the record, and the page stops existing. Nothing is ever shared unless you tap share.

This website

thymeslice.com uses Plausible, a cookieless, privacy-respecting analytics service, to count visits and see which pages people read. It collects no personal information, sets no cookies, and doesn't follow you around the internet, which is why there's no consent banner here.

The app collects no analytics

The iOS app contains no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs that phone home. We genuinely don't know how you use it.

What we do hold

If you email support, we have your email address and what you wrote, used only to help you and kept only as long as needed. That is the whole list.

Your choices

• Export: your entire library exports to Markdown or JSON from the app's settings, any time, with your Pressings included if you choose.
• Delete: deleting items (or the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings) removes them; there's no server-side copy for us to also delete.
• Unshare: deleting a share link takes the shared page down.
